i've made this psycho live mashup some days ago with my apc40, ableton suite 8 and some plugs..
prodigy, africa bambaataa and some other freak stuff.

Hi I'm new to this forum. I've just been on a pointblank online Ableton DJ course, but it's only provided me with limited knowledge.

I would love to know how you went about creating this!

hi mark!
happy to give u some tips,
although i'm sure that with some more experience you'll find your own;)
anyway:
the setup was composed of 3 tracks (third one for metal cuts)
each one effected and cutted
(also some crossed modulation, like sidechaining and so on, between them)
with two fx racks assigned on apc40 rightside knobs
one for EQing,Deelaying and similar tricks
one for FX on re-edited loops
and i've setted some other controls for loop re-editing on-the-fly.
and of course some hot fingers too:D.
i hope i've been able to decently explain..but i'm not really sure

Everything you have listed I've heard of before etc but I'm new to the world of Ableton and production too really so I don't fully understand everything.

Have you assigned rotaries to the loops sections to change on the fly or do you trigger with one of the clip launch buttons?


Also what are hot fingers ???! (sounds like square pushing to me lol)

Gotta fly out the door to meet some mates - could ask so much more. Look forward to hearing back if it isn't a pain.

no pain mark,
well..
the tracks were cutted into 16or32 bars loops,
assigned and triggered by the apc40 squares.
some work to make them work togheter.
and a naked mashup is ready.
squarepushin causes hot fingers
or hot fingers causes squarepushin?!
nobody knows..
anyway,some other squares were assigned to control some beat-lookup/beat-repeat-like fxs..
mmm..still foggy?

That makes perfect sense now.

I'm gonna have a look into what I can do with a couple of tunes - you never know may even dare to post it on here.
